Welcome - Who we are?

This is a group of very friendly parents who meet on a monthly basis to share stories, concerns and ideas on coping with our tube fed children.

  • G (Gastric Feeding Tube)
  • J (Jejunal Feeding Tube)
  • NG (Nasogastric Feeding Tube)

All our children have the tube in common, but may or may not have other medical issues.

The parents of tube fed children support each other and our families through connection, education and collaboration in a welcoming environment.

What do we do?

All Parents are welcome to this informal gathering. We have found that our support and ideas are making this journey a little easier.

If you do not want to talk, just sit and listen; if you have some new idea to share we will listen. If you need a group of people to say “we understand and hang in there”, we can do that too. Current parents have children ranging from about age 18mnths to 13 years….but there is no limit. We enjoy the sage advise of those with experience and want to make the road easier for those just beginning to learn the “ins and outs” of tube feeding.

When do we meet?

If you would like to get together with some Moms and Dads with similar concerns then come and have a coffee and a muffin with us each Fourth Wednesday of the Month.

The next meeing is June 27th @ 7pm in Tory 1-34 , University of Alberta, Edmonton, Canada (click here for a map)

Guest Speaker: "Dealing with Diagnosis, Suggestions for a healthy response to your child's diagnosis"  presented by Tracy Houtstra, Social Worker, PHNSP.

We gather at the University of Alberta, Tory Building, T 1-34. This is very easy to locate if you park on Saskatchewan drive. Tory is the tallest building and you just enter through the North doors and head up the west side hallway till you see our welcoming faces at 7:00pm. We sit and share for about one and half hours.
